| | Re: Notification Icon On Start?? Why would the WLM notification option be in Windows settings? Shouldn't it be somewhere in WLM settings? Does Windows have a WLM notification setting or does this affect notification area icons from other programs? | | Re: Notification Icon Trust me. Windows allows you to customize all notification icons in one place. Windows Live Mail does not have its own setting. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Eric" <someone@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ubyyX58$JHA.1340@xxxxxx Quote: > On Start?? If hidden, the primary WLM icon(the one without a message overlay)will also be impacted by the same setting. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Eric" <someone@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:eFU3#f2$JHA.6080@xxxxxx Quote: > I started Windows Live Mail and it put an icon in the Windows Taskbar > Notification Area that says I have new mail. | | Re: Notification Icon I remember that screen now. It does list all programs which should potentially put an icon there and lets you make selected ones disappear. I still wonder why there isn't also an option in the mail program itself to turn that icon off altogether. | | Re: Notification Icon I pointed you to that screen, remember? What difference does it make whether Windows turns it off or Windows Live Mail turns it off? Obviously the Windows Live Mail designers felt that there was no need to include that feature in Windows Live Mail since it was already included in Windows. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Eric" <someone@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23750UCAAKHA.5068@xxxxxx Quote: >I remember that screen now. It is just another feature, 'the user should not be provided with any customisation tools, WE KNOW BEST!' -- Wisdom and experience come with age, they say, but I wish I could remember the darn question |
