    dropped usenet from their service.. So has comcast.

    As you probably know but others may not...

    These Microsoft public newsgroups are actually a part of Usenet, too, even
    though they can also be accessed via a browser as Microsoft Communities.
    For direct access to this newsgroup on the Microsoft public news server
    (msnews.microsoft.com), which is free and does not require a logon, just
    click here:
    news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...e.mail.desktop

    MANY other news servers "slurp" (or "mirror") the messages from here and
    relay them - and any responses - back and forth. This is a valuable
    service, but it can often result in messages that are delayed or out of
    sequence or simply lost, so I prefer to connect directly to the "mother
    ship".
