| | Windows live desktop / hotmail junk mail folder I recently upgraded to wlm desk top program to replace outlook. I have used hotmail for years and kept the same address since 1999. Problem I have, is when synching hotmail, I get messages from those in my safelist, but it does not download my hotmail junk folder. I like to scan the junk folder because i get mail from people not on my safelist. I have not been able to find any setting that I can change to correct this. Any Ideas? Any help is appreciated. |

| | Re: Windows live desktop / hotmail junk mail folder You have two options for seeing all the folders that are present in the web interface(mail.live.com or hotmail.live.com both go to the same place) 1. Windows Live Mail configure the account as an http account. It will use the DeltaSync server which is required for making all web folders available locally 2. Use Outlook 2003/2007 with its supplemental add-in the Outlook Connectore(OLC). The OLC is capable of DeltaSync and will do the same when used in Outlook. Did you replace Outlook or Outlook Express ? - there is a difference Please tell us the server in use in WLM for your Hotmail account ? - it appears you are using Pop3, but here's how to find out for certain. Right click the email account in the left hand pane, scroll and click Properties, then click Server For an Http access it will have one server shown http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/sync.aspx For Pop3 Access it will have two servers shown pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com If you wish to setup the account for Http access Tools/Accounts/Add/Email/Next/ - enter your hotmail account full email address(e.g. username@xxxxxx or username@xxxxxx), then enter the remain information. You will have to perform a sync to fully setup the account and build the http folder structure. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Molecule" <Molecule@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B8C66145-34CA-42A7-B83D-B83CE217CA23@xxxxxx Quote: > yes using pop 3 per auto config. | | Re: Windows live desktop / hotmail junk mail folder In addition to Winston's directions: Do not remove the pop Hotmail account. If you remove the account, all of the email will be removed from your computer. Add an account with http access. You can click on the pop account, properties, uncheck 'Include this account when sending and receiving'. After you get the http account working, check the pop account to see if any messages were downloaded to the pop account and removed from the Hotmail server. -- Ron Sommer MVP-Mail "...winston" <winstonmvp@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:#HTuDguJKHA.1248@xxxxxx snipped Quote: > If you wish to setup the account for Http access > Tools/Accounts/Add/Email/Next/ > - enter your hotmail account full email address(e.g. username@xxxxxx > or username@xxxxxx), then enter the remain information.
