Save single "business card" in VCF

When I add a new contact to my address book, how can I save it as a "business card" in VCF, just that one new entry, so I can copy it to another computer that has LiveMail on it?
I tried dragging it, but it doesn't work, and there is no copy function. The "export" function does the whole address book, which I don't need.

Afaik..
'All' is the only function for both CSV and VCF Contact exporting.

The latter, unlike the former saves each contact in a separate vcf file, the former in one single file

In build 12 of WLM you could do the drag and drop. But for some reason
the feature got dropped in build 14 when they redid the contacts.

This is one of the reasons why Contacts syncing via a Live ID is so useful.

IIRC the change was that you could not drag without explicitly
making it a drag-copy, e.g. by holding down a Shift- key while
dragging...

Well, I just copied a VCard to Notepad without having to bother
to hold down a Shift- key or modify my dragging in any other way.
However, in order to find something draggable what I had to do
was press Ctrl-F and then drag it off the incipient E-mail that
created. Oops, OE has my mailto: filetype, so WLMail users
might have a difference with that, e.g. they might have to press
Shift- while dragging, as I mentioned. FWIW I tried using
an on-the-fly ftype mailto="..." command to try to make WLMail
be responsible for that too but OE still gets used.
More of that HKLM vs HKCU confusion I suspect.

FYI

Re: Save single "business card" in VCF

The problem is, what is you want to pass a half dozen "contacts" to a colleague? The old way was simple, just drag and drop. Now, one has to do them one by one by hand. Why in the world did they drop such an obviously useful function?

Re: Save single "business card" in VCF

I'm sorry, but I really cannot follow your instructions. I am talking about getting all the information from a "contact" entry, not just copying a mail address, which is simple enough.

Who are you replying to? When there are multiple responders
to your question it is confusing not to at least address the one(s)
you respond to.

The Subject implies that what is wanted is to do something
with an attached .vcf file. So, I found a cached post in this newsgroup
which has a .vcf file attached to it. (E.g. press Ctrl-Shift-F, Alt-H, Enter)
Tip: Sort by size to try to reduce the number of messages you need to look at.

So, if you find a post with a .vcf attachment and you use the Forward
command with it (e.g. press Ctrl-f) and that opens an E-mail composition
window, perhaps only in Rich-text (HTML) mode?, what do you see?
If you see a .vcf file as an attachment then try dragging it to an open
Notepad window. If a normal drag (aka drag-move) is not available then,
try pressing a Shift- key down and holding it down while you try to drag.
What happens?

Re: Save single "business card" in VCF

Sorry, but I think I have been misunderstood. I am not trying to import VCF cards from a mail attachment. I want to make a single VCF card from my LiveMail Address Book and copy the information to another computer. Name, address, e-mail, etc--everything. In Outlook Express, all you had to do was drag the icon from the address book to the desktop and you could drag it back into an address book on another computer. A simple and obviously useful function is one has more than one computer. But LiveMail seems to copy only complete address books, not individual entires, which is why my question. Is there a workaround? Or are they going to fix the problem.

Re: Save single "business card" in VCF

Contacts/File/Export/Business Card Vcf
- entire is the only option. Export the contact list to removable media(e.g Jump drive)

Contacts/File/Import/Business Card Vcf
- Import the single vcf file(use the control or shift key to select more than one) into WLM on the other computer.

As long as the ability to import a single or multiple vcf exists, imo, it might be a while before one sees capabilities for
anything different.
