Vista - Cannot Download Folders/Messages

Hi,

I have just installed WLM, after installing and configuring it to get my
Hotmail account, nothing happens. I mean there's no error or anything, it
just says that there is no new messages (even though the folders hasn't been
downloaded). I have already pressed the download folders on the top, but
still nothing happens.

I have already done this to no avail:
1. Reinstal WLM
2. Repair WLM
3. Delete Account
4. Disable AV/Firewall

note: this is a freshly installed (clean install) Win7 machine


The weirdest thing here is that I tried adding my GFs Live account and it
works! But still my own account won't even download the folders from hotmail.

In Windows Live Mail, do the following:

1. Click Tools
2. Click "sync email accounts"

That should do it for you.

Account accessible at hotmail.com or mail.live.com ?
- both resolve to the same place.

Setup as an Http account ?

yup, accessible on mail.live.com. and yes it is set up as an http account.
actually my problem here is that after adding the account, it doesn't sync.
It just displays the account name and it says that I have to download folders
to before I can read any messages. But when I press the download button,
nothing seems to happen (and also no error).

I have tried using my friend's Live account and it worked successfully (so I
have ruled out firewall problem).

No other ideas..but to remove the account and setup exactly as your friends(but use your email address and password)

already done that, but it just wouldn't work.

Yup, it has already been updated. I was actually using WLM in the past to
view this account. But for some reason, it won't work now.

Yup. Actually I have already tried these things:

2. Repair WLM
3. Re-Install WLM (also delete the messagestore location before install)
4. Add another account and it works, yet mine wont
