| | Revert to previous version of WLMail & WLMessenger I would like to revert to my previous version of WLMail & Messenger. I updated to 2009 version in April 2009 and am not happy for the following reasons: 1. Duplicate messages being received after Error! at the bottom of the window. 2. .pps files can't open - only when I save them to my C drive. I get a message 'This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.' (I have looked for this, but can't find it) 3. Feeds are working less and less. Always says Error! when syncing. 4. Sign in sometimes delayed - should be automatic. 5. Email window very slow and often another window for email opens on top of 'not responding' window. 6. I have had a pink notice appear at the top of my Messenger contacts list: 'Due to a connection error, changes you make might not be applied to other computers you use.' I only have one PC. I was happy with my previous version and would like your assistance in reverting back. Will my contacts, emails, etc. remain or should I save them? I have a Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit. All of the above except RSS have been experienced since I installed 2009 WL Mail and Messenger and have been getting steadily worse. The problem with RSS feeds is more recent. Thanks for your help. - Jane |

| | Re: Revert to previous version of WLMail & WLMessenger No. I see on AVG: E-mail Scanner - Active. But when I open it it says: Installed email protection: Microsoft Outlook; Total emails scanned: 1. This would be the initial email welcoming you to Outlook. However, I now have MS Office 2007 which does not come with Outlook. Should I reinstall my AVG? | | Re: Revert to previous version of WLMail & WLMessenger The email scanner in AVG is known to cause problems with Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail. Your AVG antivirus was probably installed with its default install option. If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to unselect installing its troublesome email scanning module. Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/VanderMolen "Jane Doe" <jdnincompoop@newsgroup> wrote in message news:58E55DA2-3786-42BB-9C9B-EFC51FC317D2@newsgroup Quote: > No. I see on AVG: E-mail Scanner - Active. | | Re: Revert to previous version of WLMail & WLMessenger I have uninstalled and custom installed AVG. (There was a restart required after uninstall.) I have just visited http://download.live.com to find updates to WLMessenger & WLMail but can't find anything about updates at all! Tried Help/check for updates & got error 0x8DD0002. Anyway here's to hoping that my problems will be solved - including my Windows Defender command line utility / Mp Telemetry which has been bugging me for nearly a year (Windows.Vista.General - unresolved).
