| | Windows Live Mail Won't Respect Junk Mail Settings I've been using Windows Live Mail on my Windows 7 system for months now and recently it began junking things that have been on my "safe senders" list for .... well, ever. For example, I get my Sprint cellphone bill in email every month from sprint.com. I added sprint.com to the safe senders list, but every time a message comes it gets thrown into Junk E-mail. This is happening with just about any kind of newsletter or forum subscription notice I get. I've completely purged my blocked senders list so I know it's not on that list. This is driving me insane. Anything I can look at or try? Any known issues and fixes? I appreciate any feedback! |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail Won't Respect Junk Mail Settings Which mail service provider are you using? And how is your mail account configured? Do you use a POP3, IMAP or a HTTP mail server? If you are using an IMAP or HTTP mail server, then it occurs to me that your problem might have nothing to do with WLMail. Perhaps your mail service provider is treating incoming messages as spam, before they reach your computer. If so, you will probably need to change your provider's junk mail settings via the webmail interface. If it transpires that there is a problem within WLMail, you should check the settings in Tools / Safety options... /Options. You could change the filter level to Low - or even turn off Automatic Filtering completely. | | Re: Windows Live Mail Won't Respect Junk Mail Settings I actually think I figured it out... I deleted the entire mail database from AppData\Local\Windows Live Mail and let it rebuild itself. It's a Windows Live Mail account so I had tried the suggestions you made as a first course of action and it dawned on me after I posted to give it a try. Thanks for taking the time to respond. |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail Won't Respect Junk Mail Settings Have you tried adding the sending email address from sprint(assuming it is the same each month) to your Contacts. If a Windows Live ID Hotmail account(hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com), is the address and domain added in the web interface ? Is the same Live ID used to sign on to Windows Live in WLM To verify or add in the web interface: Mail.live.com/Options/More Options/Safe and Blocked Senders/Safe Senders <qp> Messages from safe senders will not be sent to the junk e-mail folder. You can mark specific e-mail addresses as safe or mark a whole domain (the part of an e-mail address after the @ sign). To allow an e-mail address or domain into your inbox, enter it in the box below, and then click Add to list. </qp> -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "GoodThings2Life" <GoodThings2Life@newsgroup> wrote in message news:8479333C-DBE2-408A-8322-7DAF7D885AE8@newsgroup Quote: > I've been using Windows Live Mail on my Windows 7 system for months now and > recently it began junking things that have been on my "safe senders" list for > ... well, ever. > > For example, I get my Sprint cellphone bill in email every month from > sprint.com. | | Re: Windows Live Mail Won't Respect Junk Mail Settings You deleted the entire mail database in Windows Explorer to fix a Safe Sender/Junk Mail problem ? - both are stored in the registry. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "GoodThings2Life" <GoodThings2Life@newsgroup> wrote in message news:692D1C5C-3EC6-4B48-9C87-06B77E5086AB@newsgroup Quote: > I actually think I figured it out...
