| | Re: unread contact folder To find the location of a message when in 'Quick views', you first need to be viewing the Message List in Two-line Layout view (View->Layout...->Message list->'( o ) Two-line view' - or - '( o ) Choose view automatically' if you have the Reading Pane displayed). Then, when in a 'Quick view', hover the mouse pointer over an item in the Message List. Near the bottom of the InfoTip that appears, you will see "Folder:" after which will be indicated the location of the message in WLMail. To find the location of a message on your Hard Drive: Right-click the item in the Message List (Two-line view)->Properties->General [tab]->Location: [field]. -- Peter.R (Windows Live Mail 2009 14.0.8089.726 on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare "the Mink" <theminkleaveitout@newsgroup> wrote in message news:#44UdVBPKHA.4172@newsgroup Quote: > good question, Winston! did a search for his name in All Email and found it like that, but not in my inbox where everything else goes... > > > "...winston" <winstonmvp@newsgroup> wrote in message news:elKmNV$OKHA.1876@newsgroup Quote: Quote: >> The option is unread from Contacts showing all unread mail from all contacts for all email accounts. >> >> That Quick view can be disabled if desired. Inboxes, so you might have to look in each one of them if you are not sure which account received the message. Quick views' Unread e-mail is not actually your Inbox. An Inbox shows all messages, both Read and Unread, that have been received and have not been moved out of that folder. Quick views Unread e-mail shows only the UNREAD messages in all mail accounts. Once that message has been marked "Read", it no longer appears there, but it will still appear in the Inbox for that account - unless it has been moved, by a rule or otherwise, as Winston said. 'All inbox', your suggestion which shows all messages in all Inboxes, would be acceptable. ....winston ms-mvp mail |
