have provided, you are not using. I would suggest you follow the

Hi Muriel, I think I'm having the same problem as you are. I prefer Windows
Live Mail but mine has decided to go weird looking as if it's behind a thick
net curtain. Also, I don't seem to be able to import messages, contacts etc,
from Windows Live Hotmail, (which I foolishly signed in to). As you say it's
totally different from Windows Live Mail. Let me know if you manage to find a
solution and I will do the same if I manage to get it back to normal - if
there's such a thing.

well, here is a solution which is not very scientific: I just used hotmail through the web and then tried to synchronised a few times windows live and, oh miracle, it now functions...

I have read some other posts, in another group, suggesting that there is
difficulty with the Hotmail servers. For as long as I've used a client for
Hotmail access (including MS Outlook Express, until Sept. 1 this year), the
Hotmail servers go FUBAR from time to time; and all one can do then is wait
it out, and try again later.

Others have reported similar server problems today.
I noticed sync issues earlier today on one Live ID(msn.com) account, all others(hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com)were fine.

Windows Live Mail does not import messages or contacts from Windows Live Hotmail(it downloads the messages once the account is
sync'ed, stores the messages on the hard drive and updates WLM Message store Index. Similar occurs for contacts though contacts
for each Live ID are stored a single database for each Live ID.

Any Hotmail type account setup as Http can be mail sync'ed(with or without use of a Live ID to logon to Window Live in WLM). Only
the Live ID in use(signed on to Windows Live in WLM) sync's Contacts.
