| | How to enforce fixed-width font when reading messages? Hi, I just recently installed Windows 7 and just had to download Windows Live Mail so I could read my newsgroups (which is all I use Live Mail for). When reading messages I also prefer to read them using a fixed-width font. So I go to Options > Read > Font and change to the following: Proportional font = Courier New Fixed-width font = Courier New Font Size = Smaller Encoding = Western European (Windows) The experience I am now getting when reading news threads is that 90% of them are visually fixed-width font, whereas the other 10% of threads I read are visually using a proportional font. How do I fix this so all messages I read are fixed-width? note: I read the same news threads under mozilla thunderbird and they are 100% fixed-width when read. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks for any help. Cheers, J |

| | Re: How to enforce fixed-width font when reading messages? It seems that about 10 % of the emails are http. You can add /news to the WLMail shortcut so that it starts in news. You can also open in a specific newsgroup. /newsurl:news:microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop -- Ron Sommer MVP-Mail "John Smith" <smith@newsgroup> wrote in message news:efolfqUPKHA.4428@newsgroup Quote: > Hi, I just recently installed Windows 7 and just had to download Windows > Live Mail so I could read my newsgroups (which is all I use Live Mail > for). > > When reading messages I also prefer to read them using a fixed-width font. > So I go to Options > Read > Font and change to the following: > > Proportional font = Courier New > Fixed-width font = Courier New > Font Size = Smaller > Encoding = Western European (Windows) > > The experience I am now getting when reading news threads is that 90% of > them are visually fixed-width font, whereas the other 10% of threads I > read are visually using a proportional font. > > How do I fix this so all messages I read are fixed-width? > > note: I read the same news threads under mozilla thunderbird and they are > 100% fixed-width when read. > > Please help me solve this issue. | | Re: How to enforce fixed-width font when reading messages? Try Tools, Options, Read, Read All Messages in Plain Text and see if those 10% of messages fall into line. If so, the issue is that those messages are using HTML and the font specified within the HTML coding is being used. -- Mike - http://TechHelp.Santovec.us "John Smith" <smith@newsgroup> wrote in message news:efolfqUPKHA.4428@newsgroup Quote: > Hi, I just recently installed Windows 7 and just had to download > Windows Live Mail so I could read my newsgroups (which is all I use > Live Mail for). > > When reading messages I also prefer to read them using a fixed-width > font.
