RED X in upper left hand corner of picture

Yesterday I received an e-mail from the Windows Live Team titled "Hotmail
brings you more then e-mail in September".
There are numerous boxes shown, all with the Red X in the upper left hand
corner of the picture. How can I get the
pictures to show?

ps: my browser is Firefox and my System is XP/Home SP3

In Windows Live Mail, Tools, Safety Options, Security, uncheck
"Block images..." and also uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

Also, go to Tools, Options, Read, and make sure "Read all
messages in plain text" is unchecked.

Re: RED X in upper left hand corner of picture

Pat,
I just had an email with the same problem, a lot of boxes with red Xs.
I was working offline when I clicked on the email. All of the pictures were
links to pictures on the Web.
Anyone of these can causes this:
working offline
firewall blocking web site
web site not available

Re: RED X in upper left hand corner of picture

Hi Ron: well I turned off my firewall (Comodo) and I am not working offline
(always connected by Cable Broadband), and I'm sure the Microsoft website is
available. Closed out my Live.mail.desktop application, restarted my desktop
Live.mail.desktop application but still no luck. Except for the first red
'x' box, the hand symbol appears in the other red x boxes and If I click on
the hand symbol it does open up a webpage in my browser. So, the mystery
remains, also the other problem of not being able to post the screen shot of
my e-mail on this usergroup!

Do a Ctrl + F3 while viewing the message.
There will be a line that starts with Content-Type: text/html;
Copy and paste two or three paragraphs after that line into a post.
