When ever I post a message to a newsgroup and the message gets posted and
also
gets put into the Outbox triggering a fail to upload message error message
when I open
Live mail after posting the message.
Why would Live Mail need to upload the message when it is already posted in
the newsgroup??

All user created news messages go through the Outbox prior to being uploaded for posting. Once uploaded, the message should appear
in the Sent Items folder(in Storage folders).

The presence of a posted message in the Outbox folder that was previously transmitted to a newsgroup server, indicates some type of
corruption caused by interruption, premature shutdown, third party applications, and/or possible failure of the WLM index being
updated.

After posting my last response I compacted the database and didn't get the
error
when I reopened Live Mail.
Maybe it just needed compacting?
I didn't think of that.
