    WL desktop sync with smartphone

I have just purchased a Palm Centro (smartphone) and I would like to be able
to sync with my desktop mail client using a USB conduit. The phone uses
versamail to allow the sync operation. I noticed that Outlook is supported,
but I want to use WLDesktop. Is tihs possible and how do I do it? I do not
want to sync with the web based WLive ( I know that this is possible thru an
internet connection and a data plan).

I am not aware of such an option. I believe Windows Live Mail is more of an
email client with Windows Live sync capabilities than a PIM (such as
    Outlook).

It is not possible to accomplish that task with your device(s) and WLM.

Use VersaMail to sync with your account(s) using pop3 or imap over the internet(assuming you have internet access via your device),
if not, Outlook may be your only option on to sync with a local email client on a pc.
