| | Re: Win 7 Live Mail Email is a universal standard that is not affected by the different mail client programs. So, the short answer is yes, you use the same account settings in Windows Live Mail as you did in Windows Mail. -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/def...le/vandermolen <Jim> wrote in message news:73A24EE4-EB72-4AF8-8D3B-D1613BE061EC@newsgroup Quote: > is the information required to establish email address the same as Windows > Mail or does it have to be modified and can you keep same address in both > Vista and Win 7? > |

| | Re: Win 7 Live Mail There is no Win 7 Live Mail. Windows 7 doesn't come with an email program. Windows Live Mail can be used on XP, Vista or Win 7. Windows Live Mail is configured the same way as Windows Mail. You need to enter the server names and other settings necessary to access your EXISTING email accounts. Windows Live Mail can access Microsoft http accounts, where Windows Mail could not. You can access the same email account from nearly any email program, on any operating system. -- Windows 7 Ultimate http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview http://download.live.com/wlmail <Jim> wrote in message news:73A24EE4-EB72-4AF8-8D3B-D1613BE061EC@newsgroup Quote: > is the information required to establish email address the same as Windows > Mail or does it have to be modified and can you keep same address in both > Vista and Win 7? > |

| | Re: Win 7 Live Mail If you are referring to entering Hotmail type address(Hotmail.com, Live.com, Msn.com) in Windows Mail and receiving a Windows Mail prompt that it doesn't support http account inevitably requiring one to enter a false address to setup a Hotmail account in Windows Mail. - then the answer is No. Windows Live Mail(WLM) will support entry of the Hotmail type address for both types of protocols 1. Http(mirrored/synchronized/viewable local folders identical to the folders on the Hotmail server), and also 2.
