I have missed Windows Calendar in Windows 7 and am now using Calendar under
WLM. Is the data kept on my HD or is it somewhere in Microsoft's system? I
have a Windows Live account but have never knowingly used it.
Thank you.

I have Windows 7 and when an event is scheduled for a day, I get the alert
message over the internet. So, I assume it is kept somewhere in MS.

If you don't login to Windows Live, then your Calendar is local. You will
not get alerts using the local Calendar.

As Ron mentioned, without a sign on to Windows Live using a Live ID(each Live ID has a unique calendar) all data is local and also,
less features are available.
