Hi, Teresa.
I got your email. :>( Please do not use email to reply to a newsgroup
thread! Netiquette frowns on that.
> It does not work.... I did that last night.... What does not work? You did what last night?
Since we can't look over your shoulder, you must tell us EXACTLY what you
did - step by step - and EXACTLY what results you saw, including any error
messages VERBATIM. "Tried that" doesn't tell us anything; neither does
"didn't work". "Tried that" leaves us wondering if you misunderstood what
we said - and did what you thought we said. And "didn't work" doesn't tell
us how it failed - at what point - so we have no clue which of our
instructions might have been wrong.
> this newsgroup will work with reply and then today it will not.... so now
> I am using the reply to group.... As I said, Reply to Group is the ONLY correct way to reply in a newsgroup.
When you are reading a message and you click Actions on the Menu bar, if you
see "Reply to group" greyed out, that means you are in Mail, not News, and
you can send only an email, not a newsgroup post.
But, I don't understand: You keep saying that your messages don't go
through - but we see at least some of them.
Your first post said:
> I have checked and rechecked my newsgroup settings. The college states
> that I have the correct settings/ports and all the right check boxes
> checked. Please tell US the newsgroup settings you are using; we may be able to spot
the problem.
