If I set an alert in WLM calendar, why isn't that alert set also in the
Hotmail calendar? The event is there in the Hotmail calendar, so what went
wrong?
Thanks

The local calendar permits one to create an event and set a reminder.
If a Live ID is used for that calendar, then the reminder is sent in one of three ways
1. Email
2. WLMsgr
3. SMS text to device(configuration in web UI is necessary)
Reminders are sent from the web server(ie not locally from WLM)
For each Live ID calendar once an event is created/saved locally with a corresponding reminder enabled in WLM, one has to perform a
sync to 'upload' the data to the web
- Calendar/Tools/Sync all Calendars or Close WLM/Open WLM/Sign On with same Live ID
To receive the 'reminder' locally WLM or WLMsgr or the SMS text device has to be on and/or open.
In the case of WLM a sync has to occur(manual or automatic), in the other two(WLM or SMS)..it should appear without user sync.

Thanks Winston, but that's the problem. Any time I set an event, as soon
as I click Save and Close, the next thing I do is click on Sync Everything.
It has worked before, but for some reason it just didn't do it for that one
event and the event was set several days prior and everything was sync'd
several times after creating the event and WLM is always running. Oh well,
I created another event and checked and it looks like everything is back in
sync again, so we'll see. But thanks again for the great explanation.
