I have two email accounts but I want the messages for both stored in one
inbox. How do I do that.? That was how Outlook Express did it but not WLMD.

Windows Mail (Vista) put everything into one Inbox, but WLM is designed to
have separate Inboxes, etc. for each email account you access, and you can't
change that.
However, you can use the Quick Views function to view/access them in one
place.
Or, you can create message rules to move messages from both Inboxes to a
folder under Storage folders.

Often requested feature for MS Outlook Express: Separate account folders (it
will never happen).

Often requested feature for Windows Live Mail: Global Inbox (it will
probably never happen).

MS doesn't seem able to please everybody!

Actually, its more like...http(Hotmail accounts) previously accessible in Outlook Express and/or Outlook using WebDAV used and
required separate folders for each account.
Since the primary purpose of the 'Live' program, which WLM is an integrated piece, is to provide up/down synchronization in WLM(and
other Live Essential applications) a separate folder structure apparently makes the most sense for email capable Live ID accounts.

If one also considers that over a one quarter of a billion people are using Hotmail and Messenger(all Live ID's) and many also
using or potential future using(think Win7 no email client) Windows Live Mail then the sheer size of that population
alone(including multiple Live IDs) would make it hard to support any case contrary to separate folders for any account(especially
since it only applies to pop3 protocol). Add to that the use of rules in OE and Windows Mail for pop3 accounts that moved messages
from a common inbox which further negates a common inbox approach.

If your mail accounts are IMAP or HTTP, there is nothing you can
do.

For POP3 accounts, a new Message Rule should have the desired
effect. Try the following:

[For all messages], [Move it to the Specified Folder]. Select
"Inbox" (under Storage Folders) as the "Specified Folder". And
if you have any other Message Rules, you should move this one to
the top of the list.

I have 4 email accounts and would like the incoming mail for all 4 accounts put into one INBOX.

Create your own 'Inbox" and have all mail diverted there via message
rules.

First, create a local folder to be used as the Inbox.

Then create a message rule for each account pointing to this new Inbox.

Where the message is from the specified account.
Move it to the specified folder & Stop processing more rules.
Click on: Specified Account and enter the account name for the second
Inbox.
Click on: Specified Folder and select the folder you created.
Name the rule.

Move this rule to the top of the rules list and the incoming messages will
be separated into their respective folders.

You can use a Quick view (All In-box) to see them all in one place, although
they stay in their respective Inboxes.
