Safe Senders going to the Junk Mail folder

This just started a couple of days ago. All of my messages from the safe
sender list are going to the junk mail folder. I've checked Windows Live
Mail and Hotmail to see if any settings have changed there and they all look
    correct. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Safe Senders going to the Junk Mail folder

Are the safe senders in your contacts ?(they should only be one or the other but not both).

Have you looked in the blocked senders to determine if senders addresses are not being blocked(blocked email addresses are treated
    as junk)

You might clear out all safe and blocked senders and rebuild them accordingly for future incoming messages.

What are you settings for Junk Mail ?

RE: Safe Senders going to the Junk Mail folder

I'm having the exact same issues and have been for over a month now.
Regardless of whether I'm using the WLM web site or desktop client, all my
safe list senders are getting junked, and actual junk isn't being
"permanently deleted" as my preference is selected.

I have gone as far as to re-image my system from a known-good backup in case
it was an issue with my WLMD install, and from the web site I have completed
dumped and reset all my safe and blocked senders list from scratch.

This is driving me absolutely NUTS!

Re: Safe Senders going to the Junk Mail folder

If a Live ID is used...the web and local Safe and Blocked will sync to be the same.
The web UI doesn't have the ability to remove Safe and Blocked items without the user instructing it to do so..

    Do some testing...
Stop using a Live ID in WLM
    - tools/options/connection/stop signing in

Use the web UI for that Live ID for a few days..
    - assuming it is a Hotmail type account[Hotmail, Live, Msn.com)..it would have to be if you have safe and blocked senders as noted
in the web UIsince third party Live ID don't
    - set your web UI Junk filter to low(to ensure maximum mail is delivered to your web UI Inbox)
    - add a couple email addresses to the safe and blocked senders on line(manually or from incoming spam..
    - Ensure that contacts in the web UI are not in the web UI safe senders or blocked senders list (you do have contacts in the web
    UI, don't you ???)

In a few days, you should be able to determine if your earlier (safe and blocked)problem is local or the web UI.

OK, just for sake of validation, I'll stop using WLMD for now and stick to
the web interface. I've already signed out of WLMD as instructed, so we'll
    see what happens.

Because of the trusted emails I receive, I'll know for sure by tomorrow
morning whether or not it's working.

    Thanks for the advice!

i had the same problem. here's what caused mine. ....i had twoo accounts set
to forward mails to my main live account. when obvious spam mail came to my
main acct, i would delete and block. what happened though is that i blocked
the acct the mail was forwarded from...my other accts, so then all mail
forwarded from both the other accts, was blocked. changes have to be made
    from the web acct.

Re: Safe Senders going to the Junk Mail folder

Holy crap, I think I just figured it out when I was going through each option
page on the WLM web site...

A little more explanation... I have two accounts linked together (sorry, I
should have mentioned this before and wasn't thinking about it). One account
is my actual address that only family and friends have, the other is the one
I use for all web registrations so it acts as a spam filter. That account is
set to forward messages to actual account I use. Until recently, that process
    has worked flawlessly.

Well, on the options page, you'll find the "Automatically sort e-mail into
folders" setting... when I got to that page, there was a filter there that
said anything sent To or Cc with my public email move it to Junk.

Now I have no idea how that got turned on (I don't use the rules/filters
feature), but I've deleted that filter and will report back tomorrow whether
it solved the issue... though I'm already 99% certain that it will.

    Thanks for your post.

I've been having this problems for several weeks now and it's driving me
crazy, especially since it was working fine prior to this.

Microsoft have not been able to provide a solution when I phoned them
however having followed your instructions, it appears to be working now.
    Result!!!

    Thanks
