Regaining mail composed on previous PC

I have just changed my PC and when I opened Windows live mail for the first
time on the new PC, I re-created the old extra two e-mail accounts I had on
the old machine, in addittion to my Hotmail account and the account I had
been using the most has come up as empty.
i.e It hasn't kept all my previous messages, but, 2nd the extra account has
    kept all.
Is there a way I can recover those e-mails?

    Thanks and kind regards,

It depends on which mail protocol the account uses. IMAP and Hotmail/Live
(HTTP) accounts should automatically download all existing messages.
POP3 accounts are another matter. What is the protocol type and who is
the provider for the account(s) which come up empty?

Are you saying that you don't have access to your old computer?
Pop accounts would have to 'Leave a copy of messages on the server' and you
won't get a copy of your sent messages.

    Dear Gary,
    Thanks for replying.
Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure what info you want, but I can tell you
that the 2nd account I mentioned below is from the same server, ie pop. &
smtp.ntlworld.com, [Also known as Virginmedia.com, who took-over NTL]

Also, a 3rd NTL account, my wife's,which I have re-created, has come up
correctly with all the previous mails sent and received using Windows Live
    Mail on my old computer.
Should I perhaps delete the rogue account and try re-creating it?
I'll wat and see what you suggest before trying that.

Once downloaded to a PC they would not be available for download to another.
If you use the "Leave a copy on the server" option they will be available
for download to a 2nd PC. But, you will have to manually perform cleanup on
the webmail from time to time. If you have a specific startup order, say
you always start the new PC last, you can configure the other two (old and
wife's PCs) to "leave a copy" and configure the new PC to "NOT leave a
copy" - which will do the server cleanup for you. However that would
    require a commitment to the routine . . . . .

Windows Live Mail by default does not delete emails from the server.
So, the first place to look for missing emails is to access that account
via webmail (using your browser). Are the missing messages present there,
    in the webmail Inbox folder?

If the problem account in Windows Live Mail is receiving *new*
messages, then nothing is gained by deleting the account an recreating it.
