Presumably you are running Windows XP. Outlook Express is part of the
operating system.
Make sure that Windows Live Mail (WLM) is set as your default mail
program.
In Windows XP: Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Set Program Access
and Defaults, Custom, Email and select Windows Live Mail, even if it
already seems to be the default.
If you still have problems, save an mail messages form WLM to an EML
file (File, Save As). Then right click the EML file, select OPEN WITH,
choose program, select WLM and check the always us this program and OK.
If OE is still the default program for EML files, using WLM will trigger
the compacting notice in OE because WLM constantly opening EML files.
