    error when sending emails

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Live Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'tinamariehardy@newsgroup'.

I transferred all of my old emails to my new computer using the Easy Transfer
program. It looks as if they are in the Storage Folder-they show up as a
list, but the emails themselves will not open. I get an error message when I
click on the email to open it. What is going on?
    Thanks.

If so, what e-mail app did the messages come from and what does the error

    Re: error when sending emails

First, test your password by logging in to your provider's webmail:
    http://portal.wowway.net/
If that works, it proves you have the correct username and password.
A likely reason for the username/password failing in Windows Mail is
account corruption. One thing you should try as a possible quick fix is
to delete that corrupted mail account, restart Windows Mail, then
    recreate that account.

If that doesn't fix it, more drastic measures will have to be taken.
    Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly aggressive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
    explained here:

    Re: error when sending emails

If you can sign on to your email account on the web server of the provider using your username/pw and that same username/pw is
correct in 'Windows Live Mail' then consider changing your password to 12 characters or less and re-trying in Windows Live Mail.

Please don't post another's valid email address in a public forum..doing so allows spam bots and other programs to harvest valid
email addresses and later use that email address by falsifying the email header to distribute spam(as if it was sent from the valid
address when in fact it was not).
