Recovered database spawns "From" quotation marks

I was poking around cleaning files, defragging etc., and must have offended
WLM Desktop because the next time I opened it, it informed me that my mail
database was corrupted, however it managed to "recover" the database.

After I finished moving all the messages into the folders where the
belonged, I noticed that the sender names (From of the recovered messages
now are encased in quotation marks. I peeked into the mail store file on my
hard drive, and found no quotes, so I'm curious where these are and how I
can get my mail lists to appear without them. Here's an example from the
    "From" (sender) line...

    BEFORE:
    Joe Smith <joe@newsgroup>

    AFTER:
    "Joe Smith" <joe@newsgroup>

That can happen when the index file gets out-of-synch with the actual
    EML files.

That can be fixed by the following procedure:
    - Drag the message(s) to a Windows folder (not another WLM folder)
    - After dropping them in the Windows folder, drag the messages back to
    the WLM folder
    - You'll now have two of each of those messages in the WLM folder.
    Delete the old ones.
    - Also delete the EML/NWS files for those messages in the Windows
    Folder.

    That's amazingly simple. Thank you!
Now if I could only prevent that "out of sync" condition from occurring...
