How do I sign out of my WLM account?

In what way do you want to sign out?

If you go to Tools (ALT+T), Options, Connection you can tell WLM to stop
signing in which will stop it from synching your contacts and calendar.

One does not have a 'WLM account'.

One does have email accounts within WLM that perform a send and receive for each.
One does have the ability to sign on to Windows Live services within WLM. Signing on does not impact functionality of an email
account in WLM, it only provides the ability to sync your calendar and contacts, and once signed on to Live Services on also has
the option to access their online profile and account.

If you do sign off(stop signing in) of Windows Live in WLM then the contacts that were present while signed on will not be
available once signed off.

I have both a desktop and a laptop and I am loaning my laptop to a friend
and wanted to remove my email accounts but leave WLM installed but not
signed in.

If you had any contacts while not signed in, they will still be available.
Also, any emails in Storage folders will be available.
