| | Installer Error 2771 I currently have Live Messenger ver. 8.5.1302.1018 installed and working fine (XP MCE) When I log in to XP or reboot, I get a Windows Live Messenger window with the message "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2771." How can I get XP to stop running the installer when I start up? TIA Tom Lake |

I was hesitant to do that at first because I wasn't sure the reinstall would work. Thanks to all responders! Tom Lake |

Messenger still works fine though. Should I reinstall Windows Live Messenger, and would that rollback any updates applied by XP SP3? |
