I have the same problem.
Why can't windows live messenger be installed via a proxy server?
It works just fine via a proxy server, because I have used it
previously
via a proxy. The only problem is getting it installed via the proxy.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

kind regards, Niek

to install Live messenger

Somehow I can't view that link. But I got a standalone version of
windows live messenger here previously that did install without
problems:

(link was mentioned by someone in this group previously)

Re: Install Wlinstaller.exe via proxy

Easy fix - the installer doesn't read from HKCU in the registry but from HKLM

Run 'proxycfg -u'

From a linux engineer

Proxycfg can't be found on my Vista system (when I try to run it from
the command prompt). Where
do I find it exactly?

Great, but unfortunately it doesn't work with automatic configuration
scripts (.pac files). proxycfg just read manualy configured proxies.
