is there a way to disable file tranfer on windows live messenger i tried the
registery but it doesn't work

On windows live tool bar.. Try tools, options, select file transfer on the
left and ... and then check Automatically reject file transfers .. Have you
tried that ? Hope it works good luck

There are no specific settings for this I'm afraid.

The old registry options you can google up are for Windows Messenger, not Windows Live
Messenger and will not work.
