| | Live messenger uninstall I had LM v4.7 running on my laptop and installed v7, thinking it would overwrite the v4.7. For ages I couldn't understand why, however I configure v7, LM always loggrd me on automatically. then I uninstalled v7 and discovered it was stil happning...of course v4.7 was still running seperately in the background. Now I can't stop it. There is no option offered to stop it running from start up and no option to stop it from signing in. There;s also no way to uninstall the damn thing as it doensn't present itself in the unintall list in 'add or remove prgrams'. There nothing i can do it seems. Please will someone tell me how to get rid of this wretched parasite? I've even uninstalled .net but still cannot get rid of LM. Please help before i toss my laptop in the bin. thanks david |

| | Re: Live messenger uninstall Greetings David, I assume you mean Windows Messenger 4.7, not Windows Live Messenger 4.7 (as there is no such thing and as you already noted, is a separate a product). To uninstall Windows Messenger, click the Start button, then click Run and enter: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove Then click OK. Windows Messenger will then be uninstalled.
