| | Alerts not working, even with check box Hi. I'm using Live Messenger 8.1.0178 on Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Although I have ticked the two boxes "Display alerts when contacts come online" and "Display alerts when a message is received", I never get the slide-up alert boxes any more. I used to get those alerts, and I might have changed something since then, but I don't know what other settings might be involved. Any ideas? Eq. |

| | Re: Alerts not working, even with check box I've been looking for this topic... no, I am not set to busy and I don't have the box checked to have IM set to busy when idle. I am using Vista. The alerts work just fine while I am "online" (actively working on computer) but if my screen saver (slide show) is active I don't get any alerts when messages arrive.
