| | Video works but sound does not I can connect OK to person A but not to person B (Video only). Persons A & B can connect OK to each other. I speak to person B only by recording a short msg and sending it via one of the smiley buttons in the lower left of the screen. I have version 2008 build 8.5.1302.1018, if that helps. Have tested my speakers & microphone and they work OK. Same with person B. Appreciate any insight. |

| | Re: Video works but sound does not Greetings, The voiceclips (by the smiley button) should always work as they're sent like normal text through Messenger. As well, Messenger provides relays for both audio and video if you are behind a router which isn't allow incoming connections or a blocked incoming firewall. What's probably happening is either of you is in a constrained networking environment and Messenger can't reach the proper relays to make it work. Any idea what kind of networking environment person B is in? Routers, at work, etc.? In general, to establish a reliable connection to your peers in a standard home environment, Messenger needs full access to any software firewall and if using a router or similar device, requires Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) support enabled. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "BIOYA1" <BIOYA1@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B4F77389-1A0C-43D2-969C-EADCE3D3FA2C@xxxxxx Quote: > I can connect OK to person A but not to person B (Video only).
