| | MSN Virus ? Hello, I received a message from a friend on MSN. By mistake, I clicked on the link in the message, this message was : "is it really you on this pic? ![]() xxx.inmobiliarialusan.com/images/viewimage.php?=XXXXXXX" an picture is generated and saved, it's proabably a trojan From this time, MSN send automatically the same message to my contact. I uninstalled MSN Live MEssenger, scan with antivirus, reinstall MSN but today I still have the problem. The host file is changed too like this : 127.0.0.1 symantec.com 127.0.0.1 avg.com There is a long list like this, I deleted the line but after reboot (I suppose) the lines appear again. Do you have a solution ? Regards, |

| | Re: MSN Virus ? Greetings Gabriel, Of course the general solution is to "run a virus scanner", but that probably won't work as the vast majority of Messenger viruses aren't in the scanners. However, these viruses are generally not very complex. Just open up the Task Manager and look at the processes to find something that doesn't look quite right. It'll just be a running process, and you can simply locate it and delete it directly. In Vista the Task Manager processes' tab allows you to right-click on processes, choose properties and immediately see their location and other info (which helps in the search). If you're using XP, you can use Process Explorer for a similar function: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Gabriel" <nospam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uPHSiePaIHA.3400@xxxxxx Quote: > Hello, > > I received a message from a friend on MSN.
