| | Emoticons When I try to send emoticons through messenger, the recipient of the message sees the emoticon, however I see the keystrokes on my end. also when i try to nudge somebody, it states that they're version of messenger is older and does not accept, however their version is the same as mine, and that person can nudge me. |

| | Re: Emoticons Greetings LD, You may want to verify that emoticons are actually turned on. To do so, open up the menubar in the window by pressing the Alt key on the keyboard, choose Tools and then choose Options. Click the Messages category on the left and then make sure the two emoticon options at the top are selected. If you have to make any alterations here after clicking OK, close the current conversation window and open a new one with the contact for the change to take place. As for the nudge problem, have either of you been tinkering with your client with third-party patches and the like? -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "LD" <LD@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:F9274AAC-2559-44C6-ACB5-CDD5F50E9709@xxxxxx Quote: > When I try to send emoticons through messenger, the recipient of the message > sees the emoticon, however I see the keystrokes on my end. also when i try > to nudge somebody, it states that they're version of messenger is older and > does not accept, however their version is the same as mine, and that person > can nudge me. |
