| | Error 81000378 I just installed Windows Live Messenger 2008 in Vista Home Premium edition. I also created 3 UID's. 2 of the three work fine, the third gives the Error. I moved to an identical computer with the same exact setup, installed messenger, tested the three ID's and got the same error on 1 of the 3. Since two ID's work on on two machines and one doesn't I assume it is an ID issue. All the ID's are verified etc and I can login to the MS Live website. Any ideas what can be done? Thanks |

| | RE: Error 81000378 User Error on my part. Reply from Microsoft: Based on the drop down menu you selected, I understand that cannot sign in to Windows Live Messenger and you received error code 81000378. You mentioned that this is a new user ID and you are having problem using only this account. Please accept our apologies for whatever inconvenience this may have caused you and rest assured that I will do my best to help you with your concern. Upon checking our records JJJ, I found out that you are trying to sign in with an account that is flagged as a Microsoft Kids Passport, and that account has restricted access to Microsoft Online services. o use Messenger, permission must be granted to this account by the parent account that manages this account.
