| | Messenger not visible I have had Windows Live Messenger 8.5 installed since last summer. It worked great! In the fall I installed Skype so that I could talk to my daughter who moved to Japan. I found out the hard way that the two programs cannot be run at the same time. WLM disappeared. I could see it running in Processes in the Task Manager, but not on my screen. In fact, if I tried to open it more than one time, the process showed it opening again and again. I fiddled around with settings and uninstalling and reinstalling and finally got it to work again. Last weekend I ran CCleaner on my computer because it has been running sluggish. WLM has disappeared again. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall again to see if it would help, but it has not. I am so frustrated! Someone please help me! |

| | RE: Messenger not visible I fixed it by removing Skype. I would use Messenger to video chat, but I can't seem to make it work properly. | | Re: Messenger not visible Mom Anderson: Try getting everyone you know to use Windows Live Messenger instead of Skype, etc. Or, try using web messengers: MSN Web Messenger (some features of WLM disappear) - http://webmessenger.msn.com/ (If that does not work, search this on Live: 'MSN Web Messenger') I Love IM Web Messenger - http://iloveim.com/ "**Mom Anderson**" <**Mom Anderson**@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 0DFC041-5136-4ACD-998A-0B55976E6930@xxxxxxQuote: > I have had Windows Live Messenger 8.5 installed since last summer. | | Re: Messenger not visible Thanks Victor, I am planning to try and make Messenger work. I had bad luck the last time I tried. That is how I ended up with Skype.
