| | Messenger has disappeared. I can see it in the Task Manager, but it is no where else to be seen. Friends tell me that I am offline. If I go to the start bar and try to start it, it starts another copy in the Task Manager, but stll nothing else. This happened after I tried to make a video call with Messenger. I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing Messenger but still no good. I even removed my webcam and drivers. Any ideas? |

| | Re: Messenger has disappeared. Greetings, What you're describing is generally a problem with Messenger and a router on your local network. Assuming you do have a router, you may need to either reset it (unplug it and plug back in) and/or upgrading its firmware to the latest version from the router manufacturer. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "**Mom Anderson**" <MomAnderson@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:48847DA2-95D5-47AC-A4F3-9A0F2309A42A@xxxxxx Quote: > I can see it in the Task Manager, but it is no where else to be seen. > Friends tell me that I am offline. > > If I go to the start bar and try to start it, it starts another copy in the > Task Manager, but stll nothing else. > > This happened after I tried to make a video call with Messenger. > > I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing Messenger but still no > good. | | Re: Messenger has disappeared. This worked great Jonathon, thanks! Now I have a new problem. I can "see" my contact, but neither one of us can hear the other. I did the set up for speakers and microphone through my camera software and Messenger, but still no sound. I also updated my drivers. I have a Logitech QuickCam 9000 and run on Windows XP.
