Messenger has disappeared.

I can see it in the Task Manager, but it is no where else to be seen.
Friends tell me that I am offline.

If I go to the start bar and try to start it, it starts another copy in the
Task Manager, but stll nothing else.

This happened after I tried to make a video call with Messenger.

I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing Messenger but still no
good. I even removed my webcam and drivers.

Any ideas?

Re: Messenger has disappeared.

Greetings,

What you're describing is generally a problem with Messenger and a router on your local
network. Assuming you do have a router, you may need to either reset it (unplug it and plug
back in) and/or upgrading its firmware to the latest version from the router manufacturer.

Re: Messenger has disappeared.

This worked great Jonathon, thanks! Now I have a new problem. I can "see"
my contact, but neither one of us can hear the other.

I did the set up for speakers and microphone through my camera software and
Messenger, but still no sound. I also updated my drivers.

I have a Logitech QuickCam 9000 and run on Windows XP.
