actually it's XP sp 3

Re: Error Code 0x8000ffff

I actually have at the moment XP sp 3 and I also have some problems:
I removed live messenger from Add&Remove and thereafter I tried to download it everywhere on Microsofts site. Always it stops, last time with this error code (0x8000ffff). But now I have succeeded to download live messenger beta, but I have some problem.
When I try to use my web camera or try to use Live Call to call a video call via messenger, I always get errors, like:
Messenger not available (0x8ac70004) and so on.
It used to work with live messenger, but not with this beta. I tried to download it from your blog, but it said "I already have a newer version of it".
I have reinstalled the webcam and it works normally and updated my system and the cameras drivers etc. But it's still the same damn problem.
I'm looking forward to reading what you suggest me to do.

but it said
"The Older Version Of Windows Live Messenger Cannot Be Removed. Contact Your Technical Support Group."

If you uninstalled it from Add or Remove then it's gone, the msiexec command just removes
it - which you've already done hence the message you're seeing.

If you're looking to reinstall 8.5, install from here:

Is there also something like this for messenger plus live?
I tried to take it away because it stopped funtioning correctly, and then i
tried to install a new version, but everytime i start the setup-program it
says it has run into an error and needs to be colsed. Maybe there are stil
some old thing left from my previous messenger plus live?
