| | Application Error (0xc0000005) - Sony Vaio Hi. I have a sony vaio laptop and have the error above. I have followed advice and uninstalled any SonicStage software from my laptop. Unfortunately this has not resolved it... On uninstalling I was forced to do this manually as this didn't appear in the add/remove programmes. I've tidied up in regedit but still no luck. Does anyone have any details on the particular problem caused by SonicStage? Or could there be something else that is causing this? Sony's helpfully come with lots of random software. |

| | Re: Application Error (0xc0000005) - Sony Vaio Greetings, Well that is the root cause. I've not actually been able to touch a Vaio with this problem so I haven't been able diagnose the exact component that's causing it. As a starting point, what you might try doing is using MSConfig or Autoruns to eliminate all startup apps (the Diagnostic startup option in MSConfig is useful here) and see if it'll start there. Although it could be anything from a running application to some virtual driver to a replaced library -- but you have to start somewhere. You could also try in Safe Mode and see what happens. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Wormwitch" <Wormwitch@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:EE68AA21-8323-424C-8020-10BFBFB0EC98@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi.
