| | Shared folders How often does Messenger attempt to sync shared folders? Sometimes the file transfer will begin immediately when I log in if I know a contact has moved files into my folder. Other times, it will sync right away, but show that there are no files to download when I know there are. I can't see how to force it to look again or how long I will have to wait for it to automatically look again. One more question - other than the physical limitation of each computer, are there any file size restrictions? Thanks for you help. |

| | Re: Shared folders Greetings Bill, There is no way to "force" it I'm afraid, it all happens automatically. After you sign in, the other Messenger clients should recognize that you have Sharing Folders abilities and start synchronization with you. Throwing in and removing a file might wake it up. There are no file size restrictions to Sharing Folders, however you are not allowed to add executables to Sharing Folders (regardless of your security settings in Messenger). -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Bill W" <xxx@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:dM6dnTqU6qqppkTanZ2dnUVZ_u6rnZ2d@xxxxxx Quote: > How often does Messenger attempt to sync shared folders?
