| | windows Messenger Live 8.5 distorted sound. Hello, I recently upgraded to Windows Messenger Live 8.5 on Vista Ultimate. Everything works fine until I place a PC-to-PC call on Messenger. That's when the sound from speakers come out all distorted no matert what sound I play from any programs. After I reboot, everything works fine until I try to pace a PC-to-PC call again. Is anyone else experiencing this If so how did you resolve it? |

| | Re: windows Messenger Live 8.5 distorted sound. Greetings, Sounds like a wacky driver issue. You may want to check Windows Update and under the 'View available updates' see if there's any optional new drivers that may be available for your sound device. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Syntaxhead" <Syntaxhead@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:8FB97114-CA41-4B3B-825D-6457F8EC2CC5@xxxxxx Quote: > Hello, > I recently upgraded to Windows Messenger Live 8.5 on Vista Ultimate. > Everything works fine until I place a PC-to-PC call on Messenger. | | RE: Windows Live Messenger 8.5 distorted sound. Hi! I have the same problem. Live Messenger 8.1 worked fine; but 8.5 has insane echoing. Neither I nor my contacts has changed any hardware, so surely this is a software issue. My girlfriend says the Japanese Live Messenger site explains this is a common problem which might be fixed by adjusting settings. I have adjusted all the sound setting with no improvement. The English Messenger sites have no such problem listed though. I am disappointed in Live Messenger because of this. Previously I favoured MSN Messenger over Yahoo Messenger due to better sound quality, though poorer video quality. On a plus point I think Live Messenger 8.5 actually has better video quality than other Messengers. But that sound has to be fixed!!!
