Vista - problems with getting disconnected in msn!!!!!!!

hey there.

im having problems in windows live messenger 8.0178
i keep getting disconnected literally like every 30seconds to 1 minute. i
have tried unstalling msn and then reinstalling it but it has made no
difference. my internet is working fine so it is not my internet connection.
the service status is fineplease can someone help??? :S

Actually it can be your internet connection -- especially if you have a router or similar
device. In the case of a router, you should check the router manufacturer's website to see
if there's a firmware update for your particular router model as in most cases, they fix
problems like this in that way.

Additionally, you might consider upgrading to Windows Live Messenger 8.5:

I've bought a brand new HP computer beginning of March equipped with Vista Home Premium and I have EXACTLY the same problem. HP support gave me the same answer claiming that my Internet connexion has some problems and that I should contact my ISP. Very bad answer indeed because I have another computer equipped with W2000 and it works absolutely fine.

Using MSN leads to connection problems at random and afterwards any access to the Internet is impossible despite the fact that all the material is working fine. The only way I've found so far to fix the problem is to reboot the machine which is absolutely unacceptable

I'm still waiting a solution to this problem which is really annoying. I can actually not understand how a simple chat application can break the connection capabilities of a machine with 3 GB of memory!!!!!

Since I have Vista, I spend 2/3 of my time doing system administration at the expense of the 1/3 of time remaining!!!! REALLY REALLY deceived !
