Error 8100030d

Hello,

I have registered all the DLL, disabled my firewall and AV, deleted the
contact list cache and I still cannot get onto WLM.

So I decided to do a bit of packet sniffing. WLM does a DNS query on
messenger.hotmail.com that goes fine then it attempts to send out a SYN
packet to the IP received from its query. Then the same IP (Or so it appears)
sends back a RST and ACK packet therefore resetting the connection. Windows
live messenger attempts to reconnect 2 more times each with the same outcome.

However, the strange thing is while the network activity light flashes on my
Belkin ADSL Wireless router, the internet activity light does not. I have
attempted to add my computer to the DMZ on the router but it still fails to
connect.

Is this my router or something else causing the problem (Please no generic
oh register a list of DLLs or disable your firewall as I have done these
already!)

Thanks,

Tom

RE: Error 8100030d

Oh I forgot to add this all started happening since I reinstalled Windows XP
SP2 on a new hard drive on my computer. In addition I could connect to WLM at
first although it kept getting disconnected until I point I could not longer
reconnect.

Re: Error 8100030d

Hi!

You could try to sign in with another messenger account on the same PC
to see if that works better. Then DLL:s, router and such should be fine
I guess.

Does you current account work with web messenger?
http://webmessenger.msn.com/

Does other clients like Pidgin or Miranda work?
http://www.pidgin.im/
http://www.miranda-im.org/

Some random things to try
start a cmd and run ipconfig /flushdns

update router firmware

I understood you have already done this:

Re: Error 8100030d

Hello,

I am unable to sign in to other accounts and Pidgin is also unable to sign
in reporting: "Connection error from Notification server: unable to connect".

Thanks,

Tom
