Vista - Error 0x80070643

I sign in onto Windows Live Messenger and then a pop up comes on the side of
the screen saying something roughly around you can update windows live
messenger click here too.
Something like that, i install it but then it goes.
There was a problem with this Installation. Windows live suite was not
installed.

Can someone plese help me on this? I looked it up on the internet but found
no answer.

I had the same problem. This file can install live messenger. but when i ask
for remote assistance, still asking me to upgrade to the lastest version of
messenger. so still need help...

That's sort of another problem entirely.

What's really going on (and yes, the error is wrong, as is the link) is that Remote
Assistance on Windows XP requires Windows Messenger to be installed (note, not just
Windows -Live- Messenger). Live Messenger and Windows Messenger are two separate products.

That said, just download and install Windows Messenger from the following link. After that,
you can then use Remote Assistance within Windows Live Messenger:

It also fixes an issue where you keep getting messages from the security
center saying automatic updates are off when the automatic update window says
