| | Contact sync between messenger and windows contacts (vista) Hi all, I've got messenger set up to sync with my windows contacts by unchecking the 'encrypt contact info' on the security tab in messenger options. My question is - Is it possible for it to not sync to a subfolder? Most programs that then sync with windows contacts seem to get confused by subfolders and my contacts end up all over the place or duplicated. Any ideas? or any bits of code that I can change somewhere ;-) Thanks for any help or ideas. |

| | Re: Contact sync between messenger and windows contacts (vista) Greetings Tom, There's no configuration for this as it's almost an unofficial feature. I could think of some fun scenarios involving making junctions between the Live contact folder and the main one, but there would be some major issues with recursion - especially if you're having problems with synchronization now. Any particular scenarios/synching you have in mind though? -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Tom Sowerby" <etom@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B936BC15-993B-433A-B6A2-CBF2B063CE5A@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi all, > > I've got messenger set up to sync with my windows contacts by unchecking the 'encrypt > contact info' on the security tab in messenger options. > My question is - > > Is it possible for it to not sync to a subfolder? > > Most programs that then sync with windows contacts seem to get confused by subfolders and > my contacts end up all over the place or duplicated. > > Any ideas? or any bits of code that I can change somewhere ;-) > > Thanks for any help or ideas. |
