Not possible to show My Image, in WLM 8.5

Recently installed, from a clean installation, WLM 8.5 with Vista Ultimate
SP1. It is not possible to show my image, because says "the imege format is
not a valid format file" (of course, it is valid).

Also, the option "don“t show my image" is ticked, gray color, so it is not
possible to uncheck it.

Re: Not possible to show My Image, in WLM 8.5

Greetings,

This is very odd on a clean installation. What if you try another image (say one of sample
images in the Pictures folder)?

Thnks, Jonathan. I tried with many of my images, and the results are the
same. And, in fact, some of them were used with the same pourpose in
Messenger 7.0, in my other computer.

Re: Not possible to show My Image, in WLM 8.5

Hi,

Well it's unusual since this is a new installation, but generally you can solve this by just
removing what display pictures you currently have saved.

To do so, first shut down Messenger (or at least sign out), then click Start and type the
following:
%appdata%\..\Local\Microsoft\Messenger

Then press enter, and click the folder corresponding to the Live ID you sign in under.
Choose the ObjectStore folder and then delete the UserTile folder.

Now restart Messenger and try again.

Re: Not possible to show My Image, in WLM 8.5

Hi,
No way, Jonathan. I made your recommendations, I installed and reinstalled,
I played with the registry, deleting and undeleting all the keys related with
WLM ... it is impossible to solve this problem, and my other problem (the
links to MSN today, mail ... etc.) neither.
Finnally I decided to install MSN Messenger 7.0, and voila! everything is
now working perfectly.
Thanks anyway, but there is some kind of magics, or a black relation, betwen
my computer and WLM impossible to fix.
