File Sharing

I am running Windows Live Messenger 8.5 with Windows XP Pro SP2. WHY is file
sharing not available? It says "Your computer does not support sharing
folders. Would you like to get help on supporting sharing folders?" Then it
has a yes and no button. When I click YES, it takes me to live help, but
doesn't help me open up shared folders. HOW can I enable file sharing?

Re: File Sharing

Greetings Danny,

What's likely happening is the file system on your hard drive is formatted in the FAT32
format as opposed to NTFS which is required for Sharing Folders to work.

Note that the standard file transfer will continue to work, regardless of the file system.

If you really want Sharing Folders though, you can simply convert your hard drive to the NTFS
format. The steps for that can be found here:
