| | Sending Files - File Path Not Retained I'm sure others must have complained about this as well. Windows Live Messenger doesn't "remember" the part of the last file I send. So, every time I send a file, I have to make my way back to the directory where my files are. Very time consuming and annoying. I'm currently running version 8.1 (Build 8.1.0178.00) Is there a setting to control this? Couldn't find one. Thanks! |

| | Re: Sending Files - File Path Not Retained Greetings Julien, No setting. And no, you're not the first to complain. But if you're sending a bunch of files at once, you can just open up the folder in Explorer, drag the files to the conversation text area (where you type, not where their text appears). Not only that, but you can select multiple files and drag them in for multiple requests at the same time. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Julien" <julienparadis99@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:d662d412-145e-4888-b97c-28b0ee7637d3@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm sure others must have complained about this as well. > > Windows Live Messenger doesn't "remember" the part of the last file I > send. | | Re: Sending Files - File Path Not Retained Jonathan, Thanks for the tip on sending multiple files. I was really hoping for a hidden setting somewhere... The problem is that I send files on different instances/conversations, most of which come from the same directory & sub-directory structure. I'm sure this can't be a big change. Anyways, it would make the product more usable. Thanks again for the quick reply. Cheers! Julien |
