HELP-How do I simply add a contact?

I'm not real into all this WLM stuff but my son is in Iraq and he is a
subscriber to WLM. All I simply want to do is add him to my contact list so
we can communicate live. Why does it ask me to "import" a contact? If he is
a Windows Live user, I shouldn't have to "import" him!! Isn't there just a
simple address book that you can add Live users to? Please help --- we don't
get to talk to him that often and when he is online I want to be able to
communicate. THANKS!!!

Clicking the + icon in the top right of the contact screen (Windows Live
Messenger Version 8.5) beside the up and down arrows should allow you to add
a Windows Live Id or Yahoo! ID. If not, what does it show?

Nice to see someone found it

Really though, the current user interface certainly is failing when you can't find such a
basic function.
