REMOTE ASSISTANCE

I have a friend who wants me to connect to his computer via remote
assistance, now I have been able to connect to another friends computer via
remote with no problems,my friend has just downloaded 8.1 ,I have talked him
through firewall settings and other settings but when he requests remote from
me nothing happens,I asked if he had got "windows messager" installed and he
says he hasnt I believe it was not included anymore on the windows vista,he
has vista I have XP (I understand if he had windows messager then it would
need to be disconected ) he can't excess the sharing folder either ,there is
no compatibility problems between vista and XP because the computer I have
shared remote with is vista. So if anyone can help with other suggestions
please , much appreciated .

Re: REMOTE ASSISTANCE

Hi cibarra982,

I think there was a problem with Remote Assistance with Service Pack 1.
I have Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 installed and helped someone
with Windows Vista Home Premium.

I think if it isn't working that some of the Services are disabled that
Remote Assistance needs to use. Also Windows Messenger 5.1 should be
installed in XP.
