| Windows Live Messenger: Confused Hello I had Windows Messenger and wanted to update to Windows Live Messenger I downloaded what I thought was the right file but noticed it was named 'Windows Live' Then installed it and Windows Live now appears in my Start Menu WhenI click on it, it takes me to a web page Windows Live Home But I can't see Windows Live Messenger lauched on my computer (nothing that looks like what I was familiar with in the past) And I can't see any other icons in my computer that can launch Windows Live Messenger either So I'm not sure if it is installed or not. Windows Messenger is still present though Really confused Can anyone help please? Thanks Dave Neve |

Windows Components section of the Control Panel. Windows Live Messenger should have shown up as a human silhouette icon, similar to the one for the old MSN Messenger Program. And should be in the All Programs list as "Windows Live Messenger". It should also show up in the "Add or Remove Programs" list as, "Windows Live Messenger", again, with the human silhouette icon. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum | ||||||||||||

| Re: Windows Live Messenger: Confused Hello Dave, in this case you probably deselected Windows Live Messenger during the installation of Windows Live components. Try installing it again, while using the following URL: http://get.live.com/messenger You can uninstall Windows Messenger by clicking on "Start", "Run...", and entering the next line: RunDll32 advpack.dll, LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf, BLC.Remove Regards, mynetx "Dave Neve" <neve.dave@xxxxxx> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:u9oboowrIHA.5060@xxxxxx
