Laptop hibernates and Windows Live disconnects

When I close my laptop and it goes into Hibernation, when I re-open it,
Windows Live has disconnected and becomes inoperable. It shows that it's
trying to re-connect but nothing happens and nothing responds when I click on
a button, even to close the window.
Any suggestions? The laptop is 5 mos old, a HP Pavilion dv 9000, and is
running Windows Vista Home Premium.
Thanks!

Re: Laptop hibernates and Windows Live disconnects

Greetings,

Just for testing purposes, what happens if you manually sign out (but don't close Messenger),
then hibernate, then come back and sign in?

Re: Laptop hibernates and Windows Live disconnects

This happens on my Acer notebook (about 8 months old). I am connecting
through a wireless connection. I almost always have to close messenger and
restart it to get it to login.

Re: Laptop hibernates and Windows Live disconnects

Thanks, Jonathan. I tried your suggestion and it worked. I signed out before
I closed my laptop and went into hibernation. Then when I opened it back up,
I was able to sign back in with no problem. I'll try it again in a couple of
days to see if I get the same result. I'll just have to remember to manually
sign off before closing the lid!

Re: Laptop hibernates and Windows Live disconnects

Hi,

Ah, interesting. I didn't actually intend on that as a workaround really but I guess it
works. It's difficult to actually suggest anything with that result though.

Out of pure curiosity though, what version are you using?
